Colleen Rohde is a local government practitioner with over 30 years of experience and works with Valkyrie as a legislative associate.
She has developed expertise in local governance processes, corporate officer functions, council/staff relations, bylaw and policy preparation/implementation, legislative matters including Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy compliance and corporate/public communications. She has a deep understanding of the challenges facing local government councils and staff in the fishbowl of public perception and legislative requirements.
Colleen has a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of British Columbia, a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Administrative Studies from the University of Winnipeg and certificates in a variety of areas including Leadership in the Public Sector from Royal Roads University, Certified Municipal Clerk from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, Certified Economic Developer from the University of Waterloo.
She has worked in managerial roles for large, medium and small growing municipalities in Winnipeg, MB, District of North Vancouver, BC and City Port Moody, BC. She knows local government inside and out.
